Still having fun making birds. I am now working on three small canvases 8 x 11 on gallery style canvas. They are primed and prepped and fabric attached to two. I have a sketch done for the third.
I will call them Prissy Bird, Song Bird, and Swirly Bird!
These are some closeups of some of the Head decorations on my flock of birds. There are not as many as there were with tail feathers! I am not sure what that says about my work. hehe!

We had so much fun last week when various artists came to visit my art camp for children at the Powerhouse in Oxford, MS.Painters, collage artist, two sculptors, a potter and more came to demonstrate their talents with the children who ranged in age from 4-14. It sure was inspiring to see the artists work and to watch the children emulate their styles and use what they had learned.
Here are some photos from the week:
This is our second year to be invited to do an art activity at the Juneteenth Festival in Oxford MS. It was held on Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. in the Freedmen’s Town area. We painted watermelons in the style of African American folk artist, Mose Tolliver who painted watermelons on board and sold them from his front yard in the south.
